Change in mean and extreme temperature at Yingkou station in Northeast China from 1904 to 2017

Abstract The understanding of centennial trends extreme temperature has been impeded due to the lack early-year observations. In this paper, we collect and digitize daily data set Northeast China Yingkou meteorological station since 1904. After quality control homogenization, analyze changes mean in past 114 years. results show that (Tmean), maximum (Tmax), minimum (Tmin) all have increasing during 1904–2017. increase Tmin is most obvious with rate 0.34 °C/decade. significant warming occurs spring winter Tmean reaching 0.32 °C/decade 0.31 °C/decade, respectively. Most indices as defined using absolute relative thresholds Tmax also changes, cold events witnessing a more downward trend. change similar reported for global land six decades. It found highest (1958) lowest (1920) records occurred first half whole period, before 1950 different from recent decades, particular diurnal range (DTR), which shows an opposite trend two time periods.
